Winter in Texas

It's 75 degrees outside. I just checked the forecast for the week, so I can organize meals and school clothes. What I saw on the page made me laugh out loud! There were 3 severe weather alerts for my area: tornado watch, red flag warning (both common this time of year) and SNOW ADVISORY!

Huh???

It's just like a Texas winter to be 75 degrees with a tornado watch one day, snowing the next, and 63 degrees and sunny the day after that! It sure makes laundry interesting. One load can include shorts and flannel, long sleeves and short sleeves...anything goes. The worst part about that is trying to organize the clothes. The summer clothes have been stored, so now we are digging in those, but we really can't switch out the winter clothes yet either.

But I am really not complaining (except for the managing the clothes part). I welcome any last bursts of winter. All too soon it will be in the high 90's with no breeze, bugs of all sorts, and air-conditioning running almost non-stop. Once those days are here, they stay for MONTHS and MONTHS...no end in sight...no relief!

I'll take whacked-out winter/spring weather anytime!

Funny-I had just checked the weather before reading your blog, and I had the same reaction! And, I agree, crazy Texas late winter/spring weather beats the Texas heat any day!

We love this dark, dreary, rainy weather, too, especially on a Sunday afternoon. I am patiently waiting for the Mavs game overtime to be finished so we can get on with the rainy-day-family-movie-watching.

By the way, JRR isn't ignoring your comment on his blog; he's actually been working on that for a while. It's just that he's so passionate about it, he hasn't been able to finish it yet! It's coming (I hope!).

Oh good, you are still alive. I was beginning to wonder due to the lack of blog updates and the fact that I emailed you about a recipe... like a week ago... and still haven't heard anything from you.

I decided to take advantage of this weather today and wear some capris. Then I realized how incredibly pasty white I am... so I am rethinking the capris. Plus, it'll be cold again tomorrow...

Oh, I'm so sorry about that recipe! I forgot all about it.

It was an INSANE week. We had our big PTO fundraiser last night and it was a success. But there was a lot of stress trying to get it done! I was sure hating being the PTO president!!!

Little L says you're in a snownado watch.

I can't figure out if I need to shave my legs or not! Guess I'll just forgo the capris for a bit longer. I did go out and plant a few more flowers on the front porch this morning in 40 degree rain. And where else but Texas can you plant violas AND still have leftover geraniums growing side by side!? I figure if they don't die, I'm certainly not pulling them up! My porch is a perfect picture of Texas at the moment... Maybe I'll blog about it...
