Mother's Day

A tribute to the women I come from - I love them so very much and they have influenced me more than I can express.

Happy Mother's Day!

This is Mimi, my maternal grandmother, and my mom.

This is my mom, pregnant with me in 1968!

This is me with my great-grandmother, my aunt, my grandmother and my mother! This is one of my favorite pictures. I'm sure my aunt and mom cringe when they see themselves in the 70's clothes, but I love how Mimi looks in her rhinestone-studded glasses and pointy collar!

It's funny, even though I'm 38 years old, when I think about my mom and her picture pops up in my mind, this is the face I see. The 30-something face - not the 60-something face. Don't get me wrong, my mother is a beautiful 60-something. Maybe that face is what I see because it's the one that mothered me, corrected me, nurtured me, shaped me.

Makes me wonder what face of mine my boys will remember!

You are sooo cute!!! And I see your cute lil matching skirt, too. Kent said that little bottom needed a whoopin'.
Happy Mother's Day 'J'

I'm laughing so hard at those first 2 comments! The first one is from my mom (I can just hear her voice!) and the second is from my aunt CONNIE!!!

And Kent, no one was trying to spank me! I was an angel as a child. I didn't get rebellious and obnoxious until later!

This was so sweet! I have only a few pictures of myself with my grandmothers, and they are so precious to me. Love all the matching outfits and those glasses!

Okay - first thought - suck up. Then I would have to say YIKES to the matching outfits. But I do remember that the matching continued well into my early life -and it is actually kind of fun. I am sure that it was not fun for you and the brother (since you were entering teenagedom).

Mimi looks about 12 in the first picture!

This is such a sweet tribute to the 'moms' in your life!!

BUT!! I would agree with Kent that your bottom needs 'whoopin'! not then...but NOW!!(lol)

I was just looking at your sweet, little red-headed face again and, you know? You haven't changed in looks at all!!....just gotten a little taller...

It was a breath of fresh air yesterday...which was a TUESDAY! But, I'm a bit NERVOUS that May is almost OVER!

It isn't sucking up because Mimi can't look it up on the computer....but it's close. This doesn't look like the face of someone that would trick small children into thinking candy was really soap.....can't wait to try that on V

As I recall...you gladly participated in that little scam!! So glad you will be passing that on to your children!

By the way, CB, Happy Birthday and Mother's Day!

As I remember, you were in charge and setting a really cool example.

Yes, I STILL can't look at Ivory soap. And I can't love white chocolate either. Bro-man and I were traumatized - we will never be the same.

Lucky for you we didn't try to eat the real thing later on. It would not have been easy for you to explain that to our moms and dads!!
